Purpose: FIRST LEGO League challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. There are three main parts of the tournament: Innovation Project, Core Values, and Robot Game. The innovation project involves the team identifying and researching a problem connected to the current season's theme. The team must also design, share, and refine a solution to the problem they identify. The core values (discovery, innovation, impact, inclusion, teamwork, and fun) guide the team through preparation and competition. The robot game includes identifying missions to solve on the game table, and then designing and programming a SPIKE Prime robot to complete the missions.
Activities: Friendly competition is at the heart of FLL Challenge, as teams of students engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering - building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game.
Students: The Lovin Robotics Discover team consists of 10 students who are in 4th and 5th grade. All students in these grades are invited to apply. Student selection is based on several factors. Students must complete the application in full to be considered.
