WHERE IS THE PLAN AVAILABLE?
HOW IS THE PLAN DEVELOPED AND REVISED?
COMMUNICATION
We at Lovin communicate with parents in a family-friendly format by providing communication in a language that parents can understand. School documents are sent home, and interpreters are provided at family events when applicable. Weekly newsletters, flyers, social media, and the school website are also used as a communication tool to reach our families.
If you would like to discuss your child’s progress, meetings must be scheduled in advance and at a time when class is not in session. Staff hours are 7:30 am -3:15 pm. Calls to teachers will be returned within 24 hours. If you have an immediate concern, please ask to speak with an administrator.
OUR DISTRICT GOALS
The Blueprint for the Future is the strategic plan for Gwinnett County Public Schools. This plan is organized into four strategic priorities, each with three specific goals. To ensure success, these goals have clear objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and measure progress. Each year, schools review their data to identify areas for growth and set long-term goals to improve them. This information is used to create a Local School Plan for Improvement (LSPI) aligned to the district's priorities. School staff, families, and community members participate in providing input for the LSPI. Families can easily access the latest strategic plan on the Gwinnett County Public Schools' website.
OUR SCHOOL GOALS
Lovin ES will work to focus on the 4 strategic priorities to support students and staff with meeting a sense of belonging and psychological safety. Lovin will use a multi-tiered system to implement processes and procedures to monitor teaching practices to decrease the number of students performing at the lowest performing level.
Lovin will target foundational early learning reading and comprehension skills to become fluent readers. During math, students will practice math number sense. Lovin students will also engage in small groups and collaborate.
WHAT IS A FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PLAN?
It is a plan that describes how our school will provide opportunities to improve family engagement that will support student learning at school and at home. All students and their families are invited and encouraged to fully participate in the opportunities described in this plan. The school will provide information and as many opportunities as possible for the participation of all family members.
- Title I Program Information: Program information is available during the Title I Planning Meeting in the spring and Annual Parent Meetings in the fall, on the school website, and in the Parent Center.
- Curriculum Information: Knowing what your child is learning at school is important. We will keep you informed throughout the year about what your child is learning during parent meetings, conferences, and on our school website.
- Student Progress Monitoring: The Parent Portal is an online resource that allows families to view grades, attendance, schedules, assessments, and their child’s results, course history, and much more. Monitoring your child’s progress in school is an important way to be engaged.
- Parent Resources: We have many resources available for checkout to use at home with your child. We also host several parent workshops to empower you as you work with your child at home.
- Staff Training: We will train our staff to communicate effectively with you. Your input on how we train our staff is valuable.
- Communication: We will communicate, to the extent feasible, all information with you in a language and format you understand. Whenever possible, we will provide interpreters during parent workshops and academic events. Translation is available for most documents.
- Transition Support: Entering a new school can be scary for both students and families. We will host events to make sure both you and your child are aware of what is expected and how you can prepare as your child transitions to a new school level, college, and career.
